February 2018

February 2014 Vineyard JournalRight now, in the vineyard, we are doing some soil testing to make sure it is healthy for the vines as we get ready for the growing season. We have just finished sending some soil to the lab to test for potassium, zinc and acid levels etc.

We are happy to report that the drainage work we did a while back has worked really well. We did not have any standing water. This is really important because soaked roots are more susceptible to disease.

Pruning is coming up after the atmosphere dries. We do not prune when it is rainy or drizzling  because there are airborne diseases that might affect the vines. We will probably start this process toward the end of February, beginning of March.
