Our passion for winemaking was born many generations ago in the sleepy Tuscan village of Orentano. Across the water and over the mountains, the new love affair between old family traditions and young fertile soils has given birth to our delicate Pinot Noir. The flirtatious romance of cool Pacific breezes, whispering over Russian River valley moons, ultimately enlightens the vintner with a delightful crimson and lingering bouquet. At R. Orentano Wine : Orentano is a hand crafted, full bodied boutique estate vineyard wine that has a velvety elegance on the palate. The wine is distinct and well structured, with a concentration of fruit forward, hints of black cherry and licorice; and finishes with a slight of pepper. The aroma of the wine is blackberry and black cherry. The color of the wine is a deep ruby garnet. The juice was gently and naturally processed in traditional Burgundy style, hand punched down three times a day throughout open top fermentation.
The Vineyard : The location of R. Buoncristiani vineyard is off River Road, in the Russian River Valley. It is a single seven-acre vineyard with eight-year-old vines.
The Vines : The clones are a blend of 115 and 777. Attention to detail is in the hand harvested farming for high quality fruit. The yield of the vines is tailored to 3 tons per acre.
